Capacity Building

People's CORE trains community members on organizing, action planning, participatory action research, leadership development, teambuilding, public speaking and more. Peoples' CORE uses active participatory methods to develop the skills and knowledge of community members, ultimately increasing their leadership capacity. People's CORE emphasizes the active involvement, education and training of disenfranchised populations in order to engage and mobilize people to identify and address the problems and issues in the community.

Youth Media Arts Project (YMAP)

People's CORE trains high school youth in documentary media production.  YMAP bridges the technology gap by offering young people in poor communities of color hands-on training in video production. Youth get an opportunity to voice the social issues affecting their community through the production of youth-initiated documentary films.
