Environmental Health Education
People’s CORE conducts policy education and grassroots advocacy in order to reduce toxic emissions and strengthen local air pollution control measures in the South Bay communities of Carson and West Long Beach. People’s CORE provides leadership development to youth and community residents, environmental health education and carries out policy advocacy with policymakers on the health risks of air pollution in these communities.

Environmental Justice Media
People’s CORE educates and trains youth and residents how to use digital technology to document, expose, and publicize the environmental impact of oil refineries in the South Bay. Media technology is used to gather video interviews and testimonials from residents about local environmental health risks and monitor local air quality. The digital stories are presented to residents, schools, and policymakers in order to ensure local facilities do not violate existing clean air standards and to advocate for environmental health and justice in the community.
