HELPING PEOPLE CURB TELECOM ABUSES

Los Angeles—The People’s CORE Telecommunications Education and Assistance for Multilinguals (TEAM) reported that for the first two months of 2010, it had helped several clients resolved their complaints against telephone companies and were able to get at least $ 258.49 credits for their bills.

One client who got crammed was able to recover $ 169. 49 and was able to remove the unnecessary charges on her bill for long distance call for all states. She did not understand this and with the help of the customer service and the People’s CORE this was removed from her bill.

Another lady client was very grateful that $ 54.49 was credited and the charges for the internet service was removed from her bill. These are but few of the public service that the People’s CORE provides to the community.

TEAM Collaborative is a project of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) in collaboration with non-profit agencies. People’s CORE has been in with TEAM for the last two years.
